A Thankful Village is one in which no men or women were lost in the Great War serving King and Country.
There are 56 villages in Rngland and Wales considered to be Thankful Villages, with Stapleford being the only one in Wiltshire.
It is uncertain just how many men left Stapleford and returned safely, but research has identified the following:
