To the Glory of God and in loving remembrance of Wm George (Billy) Bown, 2nd Lieut. 44th Machine Gun Corps, who left with the Wedmore Troop, 4th August, 1914, served with the West Somerset Yeomanry in Gallipoli 1915, fell in action near Ypres, July 31st, 1917, aged 24 years. Erected by his loving and devoted wife Jess. "To be with Christ which is far better."Phil.1.23.

In loving memory of Stanley Benskin Henson Secon Lieutenant 1st Somerset Infantry. The only son of Dr. & Mrs W.J.Henson of Elmsett Hall, Wedmore. He was shot through the heart when leading an attack on the German Trenches Dec.19th 1914. Buried in Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium. Pro patria Greater love hath no man

This font cover wa presented by his parents to the beloved memory of Victor Charles Edelsten Bracey, 2nd Lieut: Royal Flying Corps. accidentally killed while flying on duty Sept:22nd 1917. Aged 19.
