To the Glory of God
This Tablet and the clock in the tower are erected in memory
of the Church Oakley Men who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918.
Their name liveth for ever.

2nd Lieutenant Grenadier Guards,
Only son of Godfrey and Edith Walter,
of Malshanger in the Parish of Church Oakley.
Who was killed in action on October 23rd. 1914,
at the Battle of Ypres in Flanders.
Aged 21 years.
