Killed at the Battle of
Neuve Chapelle
12th March 1915
this tablet is erected
by his Mother
Inscription just under window in St Mary's Church.
In dear memory of Captain Sir Edward H.W.Hulse 7th Bart. 2nd Battn Scots Guards
killed in action at Neuve Chapelle 12th March 1915 while performing a very
brave deed. This window is given by his affectionate friends on the Breamore Estate
Stone tablet outside on wall of village hall.
I have built this hall
in memory of my son
Captain Sir Edward Hamilton
Westrow Hulse
7th Baronet of Breamore House
2nd Battn. Scots Guards
who was killed at the battle of
Neuve Chapelle
on March 12th 1915 in his 26th year
He gave his life in the attempt
to help a wounded friend.
He loved his Home and the Village
and the People of Breamore
and I know that in giving this Hall
to the People of this Village
they will for all time maintain
and use it for the promotion of
Health Happiness and Knowledge
and will keep in their minds
the spirit of self-sacrifice of him
in whose memory it is built.
