Stone cross on roadside opposite the old school, now the parish centre.

At bottom on front face of the cross.

This cross was erected ny public subscription in memoriam of the honourable place taken by this parish in the Great War 1914- 1919 and specially of these from its "Roll of Honour" who gave their lives for their country

To the Glory of God and to Commemorate all the young soldiers and sailors of Shillingstone who lost their lives in the Great War. This window is dedicated by Hary Howndes and B.Forbes and particularly to the dear memory of Richard Forbes Lowndes Second Lieutenant of the King's Royal Rifles who fell at Beaumont Hamel Nov 14th 1916, aged 19.
