Welcome to the war memorials/rolls of honour for
Hampshire, Dorset & Norfolk.
My wife and myself have been collecting photos and the information on the memorials for the last 35 years.
To look at the results please click on the links below.
For all you can search by place, those who died or those who survived (Many places have a roll of those who served).
BY CLICKING THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON ON ANY UNDERLINED WORDS WHICH ARE BLUE,
YOU WILL EITHER GET MORE DETAILS OR GO BACK TO CHOOSE ANOTHER OPTION
We are trying to find out basic information about those who died - first names, rank, unit, how died, date of death, where buried
or commemorated and any other information we can find. It is not yet completed but many have been researched.
The Norfolk information comes from a book "Norfolk Roll of Honour 1914-1918", and although we are collecting the Somerset War Memorials, most information comes from two books
This is an interest which has grown significantly over the years.
We have already helped some places where the inscription is now illegible but we had collected it previously,
and we have helped some people with their family research.
I am very happy to help anyone with any queries but the reply may not be quick - see below for contact details.
Also if you see any mistakes or know of any more memorials I have not listed I would be delighted to correct mistakes and
have details of other memorials to try to make this site as complete as possible for each county
I would also like to thank everyone who has helped us with information, pictures, letting us into churches etc.
